Visiting the play „Safestay Hostel“
The two advanced English courses from Ms. Becker and Ms. Spinka visited the theater play „Safestay Hostel“ in the Wühlmaus theatre. The play is set in London in 2026 where a government with autocratic tendencies is in power. The Finnish owner of the Safestay Hostel and her guests have to deal with the consequences of the new laws.
The interesting thing about the play was that people with a migration background in particular were able to put themselves in the actors’ position. Also, the topic was presented in a funny and humorous way. We really liked that the audience was asked questions to show how many of us are confronted with similar problems on a daily basis. All in all, the theater perfomance is thought-provoking and illustrates how any kind of discrimination affects our lives.
