Letter from Yusuf M. Adamu
Dear students,
Thank you so much for sharing with me your poems – I am thrilled to receive this news from you.
I am delighted to see how my poem ‘Global Village’ continues to inspire you. The wide acceptance of the poem is an indication of your broad minds and creativity. It is good we understand things from different perspectives.
Thank you for choosing the poem.
I will like to share your poems in my literary groups in Africa. I am sure, fellow poets will be happy to read your poems. A reader is being compiled on my works, and I would be glad to include these and earlier poems (https://www.dwgym.berlin/global-village/) with a commentary in it.
I feel honoured that I have inspired a group of young people who are the future of the world.
Thank you once again.

Global Village Poems by 10b (May 6th, 2024)
Cause of the area and the air pollution
there are many floods
The communication with other countries doesn’t help
This is the life in Bangladesh
It’s chaotic
It’s hard
it’s flooded, it’s impossible to survive.
- by M.Z.
In the global village, cultures blend
From every corner, voices rise.
languages, colours, a vibrant array
Uniting in harmony, day by day.
- by A.M.
Child labour
A new day, the same way,
I do, I work, I burn, I literally risk my life,
but they don’t care.
They give me a few coins for living in this bad choice.
Is this gonna last for ever or can I escape this hole?
- by R.D.
Global village.
Escape these big, overpopulated cities. Big cities where the air is polluted to its fullest and life does not feel like it should. Where life made sense the first time was in a small populated, quiet and filled with fresh air global village. Where all your problems you are confronted with are suddenly gone you feel reborn, and life becomes clear.
- by V.D.
In a crowded world, burdened by strife,
children work, robbed of life.
Pollution chokes, working conditions dire,
In this emergency we must strive
To ease their burden, and their pain,
For a shiny future, let’s refrain.
- by R.P.
We are different
everybody believes what they want
religions are beautiful
it makes us different and special
But the accusations
break all the beautiful parts
- by K.Y.
In big cities, the people grow
Crowded streets, a constant flow
But too many folks, we start to see
overpopulation a problem to be
- by E.D.
In a village global and wide, children are working.
Pollution thickens the air, skies turn gray.
Overpopulation, no time for relaxation.
Justice for all, until it’s done.
